Let us not rend it

Good morning! The favor is never what is on you, it's what is in you! While Jesus was dying, they divided his garments amongst themselves. John 19: 23 - 24 They handled the robe that Jesus was wearing very carefully. They looked at it with such awe and decided to cast lots to determine who would walk away with the garment. It's amazing to see how bad they treated Jesus, the Savior, but handled his garment so well. I would rather have Jesus than to cherish the robe! I would rather have the savior than his stuff! Your life is a result of what you value. You will always get what you value. If you value things, clothes, jewelry, etc more than people and time, it will show up in your life that way. The favor of God is never based on what is on you, it's what's in you. Man looks at the outer appearance, but God looks at the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7 What are you cherishing in your heart today? Is it family, things, time, money? I encourage you today to place your value in the t...

Living without regrets

Have you ever found yourself mulling over mistakes of the past? Is there a decision you have recently made that you now regret? Are there people you admire who seem to never be “down and out” and always have a smile on their face? Everybody makes mistakes but that doesn’t mean you should be dwelling on them. You can’t be happy while carrying around regret and the key to living your life without regret is to live according to your chosen life path, your destiny. “How do I figure out my life path?” The answer may not be easy to find. You may need to take some time to figure out what you want to do. That is okay! Just remember that the answer comes from within. T.D Jakes points out that we need to take the time to get to know ourselves. God already has a purpose for you but you must remain faithful. Life is about being on a journey. It is not about the destination. It’s about where you are going. T.D Jakes speaks about us not limiting ourselv...

Coming into focus

Take a look at all the people around you. If you look closely enough, you will see the people who aspire to be more and are actually doing something about it. Now, if you can peer just a bit closer at this group, you will see what lies beneath the surface. Most notably, you will see two underlying categories in which these people fall. You will see the people who have their hands in everything, trying to make something work. Opposite that group, you will see another group of people who are focusing on one thing — their gift. They are constantly working on that one thing God has given them. There is a scripture I always refer back to when I’m teaching: “His master said, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful over a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness.” — Matthew 25:21, NIV This scripture speaks blatantly about becoming proficient at the task ...

Destiny requires work

Have you ever wondered, “If God is always with me on the road to destiny, why in the world is the journey so difficult?” If you are anything like other people who have discovered their purpose and are actively pursuing it, that question must have occurred to you by now. Though the question is asked by people of destiny the world over, God never promised any of us that the road would be easy. In fact, He anticipated the difficulty of your journey and is using it for your benefit. Let me explain. First, let’s understand something people often gloss over: Your destiny is planned. It’s yours and belongs to no one else. Only you can achieve it, and no one else can take you there. You must trust God’s guidance and leading on the road to your purpose. With that being said, He explicitly promised you that He would be with you. Note that the promise is God’s presence and not that you wouldn’t have to do the necessary work in the preparation process. How do you see yourself?

Pain, hurt and loss affect us to our core. We replay our painful experiences on a continuous loop in our minds.  We wish the outcome had been different--that he would have loved us more or that they wouldn’t have abused us.  But no matter how good we get at masking the pain, our wounds haven’t even begun to heal. All that happened in your past was damaging, but it resides in the past. As we cling to feelings of being unworthy, unlovable or damaged, we invite experiences into our lives that mirror these negative self beliefs.  No matter what you try, the painful memories weigh you down.  But today this changes.   It is within your power to stop the destruction and change the stories in your head. Use these 3 ways to acknowledge your pain and stop beating yourself up inside. 1. Overcome By Your Testimony Tell the truth about what happened to you, it’s long overdue. Stop lying about the depth of your pain. Let your guard down to those yo...
